SAP Note 1657433 - Additional Business Partner relationships are created in CRM when making a change in R/3

Reproducing the Issue

1. You download partner roles from R/3 to CRM
2. In CRM the corresponding relationships are created
3. You change the role in R/3 e.g. change the responsible employee for a role
4. After the change a second relationship is created in CRM but the old one still remains

  Resolution 

1. Changing a partner in R/3 is the same as deleting one partner function and creating a new one.
2. The deletion of the partner function must not delete the corresponding relation in CRM because this relationship may also be used within another sales areas.
3. This cause inconsistencies.
4. As a result a new relationship is created and the old one remains.
5. There is no automatic deletion for this by design.
